  • According to a report from Dailami on the authority of Sayyidina Anas (radi Allahu anhu) appearing in Ruh al-Ma’ani , the Holy Prophet (sall Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, “ The entire Surah al-Kahf was revealed at one time seventy thousand angels came with it”
  • One who recites it – his good deeds would fill the area between earth and heavens; the sins between two fridays would be forgiven and would be safe from Dajjal
  • There are four topics discussed which refers to the four trials a believer would face in this world:
      • The incident of the people of the cave refers to the trials faced in one’s deen. This can be overcome by virtuous friendship. Even the dog who accompanied the cave dwellers was counted among the inmates of the cave due to its companionship
      The garden owner was tried in his wealth and children. This trial can be overcome by realizing the temporal nature of this world.

    Books

      Musa (as) was tried in his knowledge. Trials for those with knowledge is greater than those without it. If knowledge alone was sufficient for commanding respect, Satan also deserved respect. Only humility can save a knowledgeable person.
      Dhul Qarnain was tested in his use of power. Ikhlas in excercising power can save from its misuse.
  • Dajjal or Anti-Christ would come into this world with all the four fitna. According to a hadith, if any meet Dajjal then he shold recite the first 10 verses of this Sura.
  • Even earlier Prophets warned of its commng. Dajjal would be capable of ressurrecting the dead
  • When the Companions listened about the Dajjal, they were concerned about how the good deeds to be performed during the troubled days.
